Chip Flasher
This is the windows installer for the chip flasher program. Once it's installed on your computer, you'll be able to re-flash the firmware on your compatible Current Designs USB devices.
INSTALLATION STEPS
1. Connect your USB device(s) to the computer
During the installation process the installer will look for connected devices, so please be sure yours is connected before you start the install process here.
2. Download the program
Click on the "chip flasher" link above, add it to your cart, and order it. (It is free.) There may be a delay before you can download the file while the order is processed. While you're waiting for that, it might be a good time to read the steps below and to get in touch with us about which firmware file you'll need.
3. Install the program
Once you have downloaded the program, double-click to install. There is a time during the installation when you will need to do more than click the "Next" button: when the program asks if you'd like to "Launch Filter Installer Program." At this point, decline by un-checking the box.
When the installation is finished you will see a desktop icon named "Current Designs Firmware Installer".
FLASHING FIRMWARE
Please email us at support@curdes.com to request the firmware "hex" file to upgrade your devices. It is helpful to know the serial number of your device-- sometimes that affects the choice of available upgrades. We will email you the correct file.
If you are working on a 932 interface: Before you begin installing the new firmware make sure it is in the 'root" menu that reads:
If you are not in this menu there is a chance the installation won't work correctly and you will have to return the interface to be reflashed here.
Open the Current Designs Firmware Installer. Choose the hex file we provided. If the firmware updates successfully, the program should let you know.
