Checking to make sure the drivers have installed -- IMPORTANT!!

If you are updating your 932 interface unit's firmware, using Arkeya for Windows, it is VERY IMPORTANT to first make sure that all drivers have downloaded correctly.

The best way to do this, is to connect your 932 interface unit to your computer using the USB cable and the Optical flashing cable and then, open up Arkeya. In the devices panel of Arkeya, the devices "932" and "932o" should appear. "932" represents the 932 interface's USB chip, while "932o" represents the 932 interface's optical chip. You will need to flash each chip with its own distinct firmware.

If you do not see both of these devices, then you SHOULD NOT continue with the firmware update.  You will need to reinstall the drivers.  If both devices do appear, then you can proceed to the "Updating the firmware" section of this page.

Reinstalling your Arkeya drivers

To reinstall your drivers, you will need to make sure you have one drive for each device installed.  First, find the "Filter Wizard" that downloaded and installed as part of the Arkeya package.  It can be found under the name "LibUSB-Win32", or simply instead search for "Filter Wizard".  Once this is open, choose "remove a filter".  In the window that opens, select all of the drivers that start with "vid:181b".  Then, go back to the first "Filter Wizard" window.  Now, connect the USB cable to your 932 interface unit.  In "Filter Wizard", select "install a filter".  Install the filter that should appear as follows:

vid:181b pid:0008 rev:0001 USB Composite Device

Now, disconnect the USB cable and connect the optical flashing cable.  In "Filter Wizard", select "install a filter".  The filter for this device should appear the same as before:

vid:181b pid:0009 USB Human Interface Device

You should now have both drivers installed for each chip.  Make sure to verify this by going through the steps found in "Checking to make sure the drivers have installed".  Once you are sure of this, you can continue on to updating your 932 interface's firmware.

Updating the firmware

Once you have made sure that the devices "932" and "932o" appear in the devices list of Arkeya, then you can proceed with updating your firmware.  If you have not made sure of this, please follow the steps found in the first section of this page!!

With Arkeya open, plug in your optical flashing cable.  Make sure that ONLY your optical flashing cable is plugged into the computer and interface unit.  The only device you should see listed is "932o".

Select "932o" from the devices list and proceed to "Interface" on the menubar.  Select "Update firmware from local file".  Then, find the two files that were sent to you via email, that should now be saved somewhere on your computer.  The file you will need should be labeled rxxxo.hex, where the xxx should be some number.  The ending "o" indicates that it is the firmware for your optical chip.  Please make sure you select the correct file.  The update should take a few seconds.  Once this is complete you can update the USB chip.
