Privacy and Cookie Policy

Your privacy is important to us. We do not provide information about you to anyone without your permission, except the few services we need to fill your order (listed below). This page says what we keep, what we never see, and how logging in and ordering work.

Last updated: October 4, 2026.

What we keep

When you create an account we keep your email address, your name, and your institution or company, and whether we have verified your account. That is all an account contains.

When you request a quotation we keep the quotation itself: the items, prices and the shipping method you chose, and the email address of your account.

When you place an order we keep the order: what you bought, the prices, the shipping method, and the name, email address, phone number and shipping address you entered on the payment page, so we can ship the order and support the equipment afterwards.

We do not keep passwords, because there aren't any (see "Logging in" below).

We keep quotations and orders for as long as the equipment is under warranty or supported, and as long as the law requires for business records.

What we never see: your card

You pay on a page run by Stripe, a payment company. When you press the pay button on our site, we send Stripe only what is needed to charge you: the items in your order, their prices, the shipping method, your account's email address, and our order number. Stripe's page then asks you for your card details, billing address, phone number and shipping address.

Your card number, expiry date and security code go directly from your browser to Stripe. They never pass through our website or our server, and we cannot see them or store them. Afterwards Stripe tells us whether the payment worked, and gives us your name, email, phone number and shipping address so we can ship your order. We don't record any card details. Stripe keeps your payment information under its own privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.

We tell Stripe the order's contents so we can reconcile payments later; we do not send it anything about your other orders or your account beyond your email address.

Who else gets your information

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers or anyone else. We would disclose it only if the law required us to.

Cookies

We use one small cookie, set when you log in or add something to your cart. It remembers who you are and what is in your cart, for up to 30 days. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing on our pages tracks you across other sites. Deleting the cookie in your browser logs you out and empties your cart.

Logging in

We don't use passwords. To log in, you give us your email address and we email you a one-time link.

Because there is no password, there is no password to guess, reuse from another site, or have stolen from us.

If you get a login email you didn't ask for, ignore it; nothing happens unless the link is opened.

Why we check new accounts by hand

Anyone can create an account and browse, but we verify each account ourselves before it can see negotiated pricing, request quotations, check out, or read our Tech Docs. We do this by hand because our equipment is specialised and sold to research labs, hospitals and institutions, and a person looking at each new account is the best way to keep out automated sign-ups and fraudulent orders. You'll get an email when your account is verified.

What we can't promise

Nothing on the internet is perfectly safe. We keep our server updated, use encrypted connections (https) for the whole site, and limit who can read customer records to the few people at Current Designs who handle orders. We keep backups of our records, and they are treated the same way. Order notifications and your order confirmation are sent by email, and email is not a private channel; we put in them what you'd expect on a receipt and no card information.

Your rights, including if you are in the EU or UK

Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or a similar region, privacy law gives you these rights, and also the right to ask us to limit how we use your information, to object to it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To use any of them, write to sales@curdes.com. We'll answer within a month.

Why we are allowed to use your information: to carry out your order or quotation and support the equipment you bought, because the law requires us to keep business and tax records, and because we have a legitimate interest in running our business and preventing fraud. We don't use your information for marketing unless you ask us to.

Where your information goes. Current Designs is in the United States, and our server and our service providers (Stripe, our email provider) are too, or operate internationally. If you are in Europe, your information is therefore transferred to the United States. Stripe publishes how it handles this in its privacy policy.

If you are unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to us, and you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Who is responsible. Current Designs, Inc., 3950 Haverford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA, phone 215-387-5456, sales@curdes.com, decides how your information is used.

We will delete your account on request, except for records of an order that we have to keep for legal or support reasons.
