As part of our small group developing, manufacturing, marketing and selling research instrumentation, the fiber shop assistant will do precise hand
work making fiber optic components for response devices used in brain mapping research. We offer a creative and relaxed work environment in a comfortable, renovated warehouse near great public transportation.

Job Description:

This entry-level position works with several other people to finish fiber optic components that are used in our computer response systems. The most important requirement is the interest and ability to work with your hands. Working with fiber optics requires careful work. We are looking for someone with excellent craftsmanship, meticulous work habits, and ability to do repetitive work. You'll need to be self-directed, organized, and a good communicator.

Requirements:

* BA/BFA or equivalent.

* Two years of work experience wth references.

* Excellent work habits including:  arriving on time, being well organized and neat.

* Good attention to fine detail and comfort working on a very small scale.

* Enjoys repetitive work.

* Excellent dexterity for working with very small parts.

* Ability to work and communicate well with others.

Position: Monday through Thursday, 9-5.
