We are looking for a Production Technician to do a variety of tasks in support of production and engineering. The production related tasks include hand-building our main electronic products in the final assembly stages, making cables and fiber optic assemblies. The position will also provide support for two engineers working on a variety of projects.

For this, we seek a person with strong interest in technical subjects but who also likes to work with their hands and complete projects from start to finish. This position requires a person who can work on their own with little day-to-day guidance.

Initial Responsibilities
Final assembly of our interface units
Build cables using hand tools and soldering irons
Build electronic versions of our optical handheld devices Manage inventory of the components needed
Testing incoming printed circuits, and completed electronic assemblies
Document all work using our internal wiki system
Collaborate with production and engineering staff
Help with system testing and shipping as needed

The position can develop in a number of directions--based on the interests and skills of the new person--to include more complex engineering and development work.

Requirements
BS, or AS with three years of experience.
Experience with electronics and soldering.
Fine attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Works well independently and with others.
Facility with computers and technical interest.
Interest and background in Linux preferred.

Job Specifics
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9-5 (four days per week).
